Resources for Kingdom Daughters

In offering this resource list we hope to provide young ladies with tools that will help them understand who God is for the glory of His Kingdom. An understanding of theology and history are essential to the establishing of godly culture. It is essential the People of God know who He is and what He has done in history. As Christian women, we must understand the Scriptures are the sole authority for all of life and practice and structure our lives around this principle.
Proverbs 9:10 says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." Because we understand the beginning of all knowledge, wisdom and understanding is the fear and knowledge of God our first source is Scripture. Before we would recommend books and resources we offer this disclaimer: there is nothing written outside of Scripture that can be read with a lazy mind. We are given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) and instructed to take down strongholds, taking every thought captive that sets itself up against the knowledge of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5) Every book we read, recording we listen to or documentary we watch needs to be carefully examined against Scripture and taken captive to obey Christ.
While we firmly assert the final authority of Scripture we are also grateful for the works of wise Christian men and women whose knowledge and experience we inherit through their writing.  There is a wise saying, "You will be the same person next year except for the books you read and the people that influence you." Through the list below, we hope to encourage young women to be purposeful in seeking knowledge, to fill their minds with the pursuit of holiness and the knowledge of God.
Daughters please seek the counsel of your parents before choosing books from this list, but also if you receive your father and mother's approval, don't be afraid to choose an intellectually difficult book. It may be like reading a different language at first but you'll be surprised how quickly you acquire knowledge when you stretch your vocabulary and topics of interest!
